Non-synthetic oils thicken rapidly as the temperature drops. In cold weather, this causes difficult starting as the engine fights to turn over against the semi-solid lubricant. And even if the engine starts, the cold, thick oil will not circulate immediately, which means some parts of your engine can run for up to five minutes without any lubrication at all!

AMSOIL stays fluid at much lower temperatures. In cold weather, AMSOIL permits easier starting and instant lubrication throughout the entire engine. During starts and warm-ups, critical engine surfaces slide, protected by a tough, reliable film of oil between them.

A hard-working engine generates tremendous heat, a serious problem for nonsynthetic lubricants. Oil thickening and oil consumption occur when high temperatures evaporate the lighter, more volatile portions of petroleum-based oil. Heat also causes oxidation, forming gummy sludges and varnishes.

Even though AMSOIL 2-Cycle Oils have been optimized for specific applications, they are multi-functional and recommended for use in many areas. The chart rates each oil's performance abilities per application as follows:

Excellent: "The" primary recommendation for the oil. This is the best possible choice for the application. The oil is specifically designed for the operating conditions of the motors in these markets. There is only one "Excellent" recommendation per category.

Very Good: A main recommendation for the oil. Identifies an oil that is very good for the operating conditions of these motors.

Good: A secondary recommendation for an oil. The oil was not specifically designed for these applications, however, the chemistry in the oil is suited to the operating conditions of these motors.

Not Recommended: Identifies applications where the product was not intended for use. "Excellent" rated products otter superior performance.

Racing:

(1) Not recommended for long-term use in outboard motors as a TC-W3 type oil, although excellent as a race oil for short term use where motors are periodically inspected.

(2) Excellent for racing or modified motors. Very good for recreational use.

AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil

AMSOIL Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Oil

Most hydraulic/transmission failures are caused by contamination or breakdown of the hydraulic fluid. Excess heat is a major enemy of hydraulic/transmission fluids. Non-synthetic hydraulic fluids are likely to oxidize when exposed to the extreme environment of tractor transmissions and hydraulic systems. Oxidation leads to the formation of acids, varnish and sludge deposits. This can thicken oil, reduce lubricating abilities, accelerate wear, damage hoses and lead to further overheating and catastrophic component failures.

AMSOIL Oil Filtration Systems

The AMSOIL Ea Spin-On By-Pass Filter cleans oil diverted from engine circulation by treating it to ultra-fine filtration that removes sub-micron sized particles and water.

Wear tests have shown particles of contamination in the sub-20-micron range are most harmful to rings and bearings. Most trucks are sold with a full-flow filter as their only oil cleasnsing unit. A study by the Milwaukee School of Engineering determined the filtering efficiency of four top-selling full-flow filters compared with a BE-90 AMSOIL Spin-On Bypass Filter. Use in differentials, manual transmissions or other gear applications where one or more of the following standards are specified: API GL-5 & MT-1, MIL-PRF-2105E, Dana SHAES 234 (Formerly Eaton PS-037) for 250,000 miles, Mack GO-J, Arvin/Meritor 0-76N (75W-90) & 0-76M (75W-140), plus hypoid gear oil specifications from all foreign and domestic manufacturers such as GM, Ford and Daimler Chrysler. Can also be used in rear axles where API Service GL-4 lubricant is recommended.

AMSOIL Slip-Lock Differential Additive is formulated for use with both synthetic and petroleum gear lubricants and safely replaces manufacturer recommended friction modifiers. Its convenient flip-top dispenser provides quick and easy application to the gear housing. One four-ounce bottle of Slip-Lock treats differential capacities of two to four quarts. It is not for use in automatic transmissions or other applications requiring ATF.

NOTE: AMSOIL Synthetic Gear Lubes do not require the use of this additive. However, not all differentials respond the same and if chatter is noticed, the addition of AMSOIL Slip-Lock will eliminate it. For chattering differentials not running AMSOIL Gear Lube, this product is an excellent solution to the problem.

Semi-Fluid 00 Synthetic EP Grease:
AMSOIL Semi-Fluid 00 Synthetic EP Grease is a high-viscosity lithium complex semifluid grease (NLGI 00) formulated to lubricate and protect agricultural and commercial equipment.
